Los Angeles, CA – The entertainment world is mourning the loss of veteran soap opera actor Johnny Wactor, best known for his role as Brando Corbin on “General Hospital.” Wactor, 37, was tragically shot and killed early Saturday morning in downtown Los Angeles. According to TMZ, which cited Wactor’s mother, Scarlett Wactor, and police, the incident occurred after Wactor and a friend witnessed three individuals attempting to steal his car’s catalytic converter.

The Los Angeles Police Department reported that the fatal shooting took place around 3:00 am near the intersection of Pico Boulevard and Hope Street. Wactor did not fight back when he confronted the suspects, yet he was still shot. The three suspects fled the scene immediately, and no arrests have been made at this time. Wactor was rushed to a nearby hospital but was pronounced dead shortly after his arrival.

Wactor’s death was confirmed by his talent agent, David Shaul, who issued a heartfelt statement to Variety. “Johnny Wactor was a spectacular human being. Not just a talented actor who was committed to his craft but a real moral example to everyone who knew him. Standing for hard work, tenacity, and a never-give-up attitude. In the highs and lows of a challenging profession, he always kept his chin up and kept striving for the best he could be. Our time with Johnny was a privilege we would wish on everyone. He would literally give you the shirt off his back. After over a decade together, he will leave a hole in our hearts forever,” Shaul said.

Wactor, who entered the acting scene in 2007 with the television show “Army Wives,” built a varied and accomplished career. He gained recognition for his roles in supernatural series such as “Siberia” and “Criminal Minds,” and appeared in other popular shows including “The Westworld,” “The OA,” “NCIS,” “Station 19,” and “Hollywood Girl.” However, his breakthrough role came with “General Hospital,” where he captivated audiences with his portrayal of Brando Corbin.
